March 2010
So today, exactly a week since getting my long awaited, postponed, G1, I finally got behind the wheel. My mom took me to the church parking lot (Which is like the unofficial Driver’s Ed area) and for the first time, switched seats.
I was nervous and excited at the same time. Being someone who knew absolutely nothing about driving—except the rules of the road and signs (due the necessity of that knowledge for my G1). Seriously, I didn’t even know how to put on the windshield wipers. Actually, I still don’t. It’s a sunny day.
Well, here I am an hour later, not hurt, not in the hospital, and there are no dents in the car. All good signs.
But don’t be fooled, driving’s not as easy as it looks.
I was only driving 20-40 km/h, and it was still a bit hard to control where I was going (turns and all that). Almost crashed into a pole, but my mom’s yelling and steering saved us from that.
And the entire time I was going up and down and around, I really could only focus on steering and braking and pushing the gas pedal. No time to do the whole 5 second checks, looking at the mirrors, hec I couldn’t even look at my speed. But hey, it was my first time!
Anyways I guess the only way to get better, and ready to hit the actual road, is to practice, practice, and you guessed it—practice!
Anyone reading this probably thinks I’m a fail at life. But it’s my first time okayy! :P
So yeah, there it is, my first experience driving!

While it’s cool, (okay really exciting!) that a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie is coming out and scheduled for release in May 2011! (Yes, I will be an 18 year old lining up to see it!) It’s sad that my grade eight crush or maybe even earlier?, Orlando Bloom, Mr. William Turner, will not be returning. No clue why, but it’s sad.
Yeah, I used to be really obsessed with the whole Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Disney marketed them well. I’ve overcome that weird tween phase, but I’m still def going to see the next one. :)

I never did like Ms. Cruz…
On another note, a completely different and off topic one, I think I have an addiction to Tim Hortons French Vanilla Cappuccinos.
I could blame it on my Creative Advertising teacher, who brings a tin and kettle for us everyday to class so that we can make our own.
And I could blame it on my almost daily ventures to Timmies myself.
Buhhhh, I never thought I would ever have such a craving and desire for caffeine.
Oh well…

I live my life in school.
Might as well get a bed and pillow, oh and my closet, and bring it there.
Just thought you should know.
I’m off to—you guessed it, night school now.
Today I will spend 11 hours of my short 24 hour day at school. No lie.
8:00-2:40 of day school = 6 hours 40 mins
2:40-4:00 of dance practice/yearbook = 1 hour 20 mins
and now I shall spend:
6:00-9:30 of night school = 3 hours 30 mins
Which brings my daily total to 11 hours and 30 mins.
The grey walls of d’Youville can not get any worse.
FUn! :)
Goals.
We’ve all had them.
Whether we’ve made them out of our own interest, or because a teacher forced you to on the first day, or university applications demanded of them…almost every single person on this earth has had and set at least one goal for them in life.
I’ve tried this numerous times. And being the lazy, procrastinator I am…have never succeeded. Until today. I’ve completed and achieved a goal I set for myself the day I turned sixteen. A goal that is very common among most people in North America and beyond. And that my friends, was to get my G1. My “learners permit” to begin driving!
Yup, I got that shizz. I can finally drive!…with my mommy. LOL
Well, after a year, six months, and one day of putting it off, I finally drove (or got driven) to the Drive Test Centre and waited in line for six hours to get a scrap of paper saying I’m certified to drive…with an adult who has at least 4 years of driving experience.
So reach for the stars kiddies, because your goals and dreams can and will come true!
Take the initiative, and don’t be lazy.
Even if it takes you a year, six months, and one day. :)
Today is my half birthday! Just thought you should know. Yup, I’m officially seventeen… and a half! 6 more months until I’m a legal adult baby! Lottery tickets and voting ballots here I come!

So I thought I’d try this thing out. Let’s see how long this will last.
To this day I’ve tried blogspot, freewebs, and wix. None of them have caught my attention for long. And so here we are, my “tumblr” blog.
For those of you who don’t know me;
TheyCallMeNaomi
That’s also my twitter name. LOL
I’m seventeen, living my senior year in high school, in a city I wanna get the hell out of.
I call myself a writer, one that hopes to pursue a career in journalism. Magazine writing to be specific. I have already got some stuff published, which I shall share with y’all later.
I’m very friendly, not so outgoing, and according to my friends, funny.
So stay tuned for more interesting or boring (you choose) witty posts from just another teenager.
